Alton Charles Dixon was born on September 19, 1978 at University Medical Memorial Hospital in Jackson, MS to Judy Dixon-Collins and David Yates. He later resided with his grandparents, the late Virginia and Charles Dixon. He then joined House of Prayer, where he played the drums and was apart of the choir. Alton peacefully passed away on December 3, 2025 at Baptist Medical Center surrounded by family.
Whether it was his infectious laughter, his caring nature, or his ability to turn any moment into a cherished memory, he was a gift to all who had the privilege of knowing him. He attended Crystal Springs High School. He was deeply committed to his family, friends and everyone connected to him. Leaving a caring mark on all the people close to him. He loved being a provider to those he loved. He will be deeply missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Virginia Dixon, Charles Dixon and Jessie Palmer Yates. One aunt Sharolyn Smith, We take comfort in knowing they welcomed him with open arms. Though the pain of his loss is overwelming, we find solace in the memories he left behind. His spirit will live on in every shared story, every echo of laughter and every act of love inspired by his example. We will forever carry him in our hearts.

His long term girlfriend, Marketa Wilson of Crystal Springs, MS. A son through love, Marquavious Wilson of Crystal Springs, MS. Two sisters: Jessica Yates of Jackson, MS and Meela Dixon of Nashville, TN. Four brothers: Jeffrey Dixon and Parris Smith of Crystal Springs, MS . Christopher Dixon of Nashville, TN and David Yates of Jackson, MS. One grandson:Aiden Skaggs. Three aunts: Brenda Brown, Sandra (Bobby)Yates-Moore, and Ann Yates Crenshaw of Jackson, MS. Two uncles: Michael Dixon of Brookhaven, MS and Clarence Dixon of Crystal Springs, MS and a host of nieces, nephews, close relatives and special friends
