Amauri Ainsworth

Amauri was born on December 15, 2006, to Latonya Anderson and Michael Ainsworth. His earliest years were spent in the care of his mother, Latonya, who gave him life and laid the foundation for the young man he would become. In second grade, Amauri went to live with his father, Michael Ainsworth, and bonus mom, Penney, where he spent the rest of his childhood and teenage years.

Amauri attended Ridgeland High School, graduating with the Class of 2025. His graduation marked an important milestone and the start of a new chapter filled with promise. Amauri grew into a joyful, respectful, and loving young man full of personality and life. He had a unique way of brightening any room. He was friendly to everyone, always ready with a joke, and could bring laughter and joy wherever he went. To know Amauri was to love him.

He enjoyed traveling, riding his four-wheeler, horseback riding, and simply spending time with loved ones, sitting around talking, laughing, and joking.

Of all the titles Amauri held in his 19 years, one of the greatest was DaDa. Amauri’s beloved son, Kycen Ainsworth, whom he affectionately called “fatman,” held an extraordinary place in his heart. The love between father and son was unmistakable. Those closest to them saw so much of Amauri in Kycen—his expressions, personality, and spirit. Through Kycen, a beautiful part of Amauri lives on.

Amauri was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Cynthia Anderson-Grantham, and his paternal uncle, Mario Ainsworth. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved son, Kycen Armani Ainsworth; his mother, Latonya Anderson; his father, Michael Ainsworth; and his devoted bonus mom, Penney Ainsworth, his MP. Amauri was blessed to be the baby boy in a large blended family of twelve siblings, who all miss him deeply: Raneccia, LaTavious, Terrell, Amiya, Michael Jr., Ladarrius, Devonta, Marquise, Christian, Montrell, Jasmine, and Jayla, with whom he shared a close bond. He also leaves behind his maternal grandfather, Larry (Shirley) Gilmore; paternal grandmother, Sandra Jefferson; paternal grandfather, Larry (Song) Powell; and his best friend,/brother, Deon Tillman. Many loving aunts and uncles, along with a host of cousins, extended family, friends, classmates, and others touched by his laughter, smile, and spirit, also mourn this tremendous loss.
