Annie Pearl Covington was born on May 6, 1930 in Oktibbeha COunty Starkville, MS to the late Jeffery Stallings and Nancy Swain.
She accepted Christ at an early age and later joined Peter's Rock Temple C.O.G.I.C., where she served faithfully for many years as an usher and Mother. As her health started to change, she relocated to Crystal Springs, MS to live with her daughter and family. She joined Straightway Ministries and remained there faithfully for well over 20 years until God called her home.
She was united in holy matrimony to the late Willie Joe Gillespie Jr., and to this union 4 children were born. SHe later married Willie Henry Covington, and to this union, 1 daughter was born.
She was employed at Starkville Manor Nursing Home for many years and as a dietician at MIssissippi State University. In her later years, she served as a private caregiver.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W.H. Covington; 2 sons, Robert Lee Gillespie and Willie; and her sister, Frannie Johnson.
SHe leaves to cherish her precious memories three daughters: Diane Wallace of O' Fallon, MO; Janice Miller (Maurice) of O' Fallon MO and Mishelia Johnson (Steven) of Crystal Springs, MS; (2) stepbrothers, Robert Stallings (Sally) and Robert Stallings (Cynthia); niece Nannette Johnson; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; relatives; and family.
