Bessie Haley was born in Crystal Springs, MS to the late John Walker and Pinky Bouie Walker.

She was raised in a family with Christian teachings. She was a member of the Greater Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. 

Bessie had numerous of jobs, but her passion was Childcare. She had unconditional love for everyone. 

On Sunday, November 9, 2025, her heavenly father called her home. Bessie Haley was preceded in death by her mother and father, Pinky and John Walker; a husband: Terry Haley; a sister, Ann Jordan; and three brothers, John Walker, JT Walker and David Walker.

Bessie memories will forever be cherished by her seven children: Carrie Walker, Nancy Bingham, Annette Adams, Phillip Haley(Latoria Willis)J.C. Walker, Charles Walker(Petrina Craig) and Ernis Walker; forty one grandchildren, fifty-six great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren; siblings, Troy Walker, Eddie Bouie, Cleo Benson, Essie Harris, and a host of relatives and friends.
