Carolyn Yulandia Wyatt, aged 71, passed away on May 28, 2025, in Jackson, Mississippi. Born on January 25, 1954, Carolyn dedicated over two decades of her life to nurturing young minds as a preschool teacher in Peoria, Illinois, before returning to her roots in Mississippi.
A life marked by devotion, Carolyn was a beloved wife to John L. Wyatt of 50 years, a cherished mother to Marice Rogers, and a proud grandmother and great-grandmother to many. Her family, including grandsons Preston Hollie and Jarvin Rogers and granddaughters Jessica Hollie and Yasmyn Hollie, remember her as the cornerstone of their lives. Carolyn's legacy extends to ten great-grandchildren who will carry forward her teachings and love. She was also survived by one brother, Tony (Virgena) Erving of Peoria, Illinois, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Carolyn was a spiritual anchor of her family, having been baptized at an early age at Grace Baptist Church in Peoria. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life, influencing her gentle and caring approach both at home and in her professional life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Erving and Robert Holly; her grandparents Roosevelt and Annie Mae Greenlee; her siblings Zinda Daugherty, MIchael Hollie, and Tammy Erving; and her great-grandson Jahmyr Hollie.
Carolyn's memory will forever be cherished by her family, friends, and all who were touched by her compassionate spirit.
