Clarence Ellis Chatman Jr.

Clarence Ellis Chatman Jr., affectionately known as Elroy, passed away on October 6, 2023, in Jackson, Mississippi. Born on June 10, 1982, in Jackson, he was the beloved son of Clarence and Ella Chatman. Elroy's untimely departure has left a deep void in the hearts of his family and friends.

Elroy's love for cars sparked a lifelong passion which led him to pursue a career as an auto mechanic. He honed his skills and became highly skilled in his craft. His dedication and expertise endeared him to those who sought his assistance with their vehicles.

Education played a significant role in Elroy's life. He attended Hinds County Public Schools where he laid the foundation for his future endeavors. Later, he furthered his education at Hinds Community College, equipping himself with knowledge and skills that would benefit him throughout his life.

Known for his unwavering work ethic and caring nature, Elroy was a devoted father to his three sons, Jadon and Jamarius Chatman of Terry, Mississippi.and Liam Jackson Of Jackson Mississippi  His love and support knew no bounds as he dedicated himself to their upbringing, ensuring they had every opportunity for success.

Family meant the world to Elroy, and he cherished the time spent with his loved ones. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ella Francis Chatman. Though she is no longer physically present with them, her memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who loved her.

Elroy leaves behind a legacy that will be treasured by all who knew him. In addition to his sons, he is survived by seven siblings: brothers Antonio (Nikki) Chatman, Mario (Jeralka) Chatman, Rodriquez Dixon (Symone), and sisters Celia (Alfonia) Stewart, Brittany McGowan, LaFlora (Franklin) Evans, and Kenyatta Spann. His nieces, nephews, relatives, and countless friends will forever hold his loving memories close to their hearts.

To honor his life and pay tribute to the impact he made on those around him, a visitation will take place on October 27, 2023, from 13:00 to 17:00 at Heritage Funeral Services, LLC located at 421 West Cunningham Ave., Terry, MS 39170. A celebration of Elroy's life will follow on October 28, 2023, at New Pisgah M.B Church, situated at 720 W. Georgetown St in Crystal Springs Ms. The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 11:00.

Elroy's departure has left a void that can never be filled. May we cherish the memories we shared with him and find solace in the knowledge that he touched our lives in profound ways. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
