Corey Jerome Nichols

Corey Jerome Nichols was born on March 15, 1986 to Gloria Nichols in  Jackson, MS.  He was preceded in death by his mother/grandmother, Minnie Pace Wells and grandparents, Jomina and David Cottrell and Jessie Reed, Sr.

Corey called Carlton Carroll, dad and they were Saturday morning fishing buddies. Corey heard the call and received his wings suddenly after a fight with his heart, to be with the Lord on May 5, 2026.

Corey joined Mt Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 4632 Kennebrew Rd, Pocahontas, MS and was baptized at an early age.

Corey attended Jackson Public Schools and graduated from Callaway High School. Corey moved around quite a lot, living in Mississippi, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Florida.

Corey leaves to cherish his memories, his mother Gloria Nichols and her fiancé', Carlton Carroll, a sister, Yolanda Nichols, two brothers: Jonathan Nichols and Charles Sawyer, Jr.; aunt, Lisa Pace Stuckey(Rickey); uncle Joseph Pace; uncle David Chaffin (Lillie); aunts: Shukundala Stuckey and Jessica Smith(Marvin) and uncle Jessie Reed.  Corey had seven children: JaCorey Nichols(mother, Shaquita Montgomery-Dishmon), Corey Nichols, Jr., Chase Champion, Ci'la Champion, Ja'Nya Champion, Chloe Nichols, Ja'ceare'ya Nichols (mother Jessica Champion) and one grandchild, Ja'liyah Nichols. Corey had two remaining great aunts, Emma Mae Chaffin and Patricia Ann Chaffin and great uncle Clarence (Hazel) Chaffin. He grew up with his cousins, Randy and Rickey Stuckey and Ralphfiel Pace, his fishing buddy, David and Nicholas Harvey. A special friend Casey Summers, a special niece, Taliah Nichols. A host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, relatives and friends from Mississippi to Texas, California, Florida, Tennessee, Pocahontas and Jackson, MS area will forever remember, cherish and love him.
