Dontarius Treyvon Johnson passed away peacefully at South Central Regional Medical Center on September 14, 2026 at the age of 21. Dontarius was born on July 18, 2005, and though his time with us was far too short, the memories he created and the love he shared will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Dontarius was truly one of a kind. He was kind, polite, and genuine, with a personality that could Icave a lasting impression. He had a way of doing things with passion and intensity, when he cared about something, he gave it his whole heart. Whether it was his schoolwork, learning something new or one of the everyday things he enjoyed, Dontarius brought his own special energy and determination to it.
He was a proud graduate of Wingfield High School, graduating in May 2024. After graduation, Dontarius continued his education at Jones College, where he was pursuing a degree in welding. He was working toward his future and learning a trade that he could be proud of.
Those who knew Dontarius knew some of the things that brought him joy. He loved playiog video games, fishing with his dad, and watching WWE wrestling matches with his mom. He loved listening to music and singing around the house, often imitating his favorite artists and bringing their songs to life in his own unique way. These were more than just hobbies they were pieces of the personality and spirit that made Dontarius who he was.
But perhaps what will be remembered most was the person behind the hobbies: his kindness, his politeness, his passion, and the way he could make an impression simply by being himself. He was a son, a brother, a grandson, a nephew, a cousin, and a friend. He was loved deeply, and his absence will be felt in ways words cannot fully express.
Dontarius was preceded in death by his beloved sister, Brandi Johnson.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving parents, Sylvia and Randy Johnson; his maternal grandparents, Percy and Annie Smith; paternal grandmother Mary Johnson, aunts and uncles; cousins; and a host of friends and loved ones who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
There will be moments when his family and friends hear a song he loved, remember something he said, or simply wish they could hear his voice one more time. In those moments, may there be comfort in knowing that Dontarius's life mattered, his presence made a difference, and the love shared with him will never be lost.
Though 21 years was not nearly enough time, Dontarius lived those years as himself—-with passion, intensity, kindness, and a spirit that could not be duplicated.
Through the prayers and ministry of Reverend E.W. Sanders, the family was blessed to witness Dontarius accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior Though our hearts are heavy we find peace knowing that Dontarius is resting in the presence of his Savior.
