MRS. FREDDIE MAE PENDARVIS was born on July 3, 1937, in Crystal Springs, Mississippi, to her parents, Fred and Armetha Rawls.
After accepting Christ at an early age, she joined Virden Grove Baptist Church. She later united with New Life Fellowship Baptist Church in Jackson, Mississippi, where she faithfully served on the Usher Board. For many years, she worked as a Direct Care Giver at Mississippi State Hospital. Her greatest joy was serving others.
Freddie Mae married Cleotis Pendarvis, and to this union a son was born, Duwane Pendarvis of Jackson, Mississippi. She was also blessed with a daughter, Sharon Denise Gipson, and a son, Timothy Carl Gipson, both of Jackson, Mississippi.
Mrs. Pendarvis departed this life on July 29, 2026, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Duwane Pendarvis, Sharon Denise Gipson, and Timothy Carl Gipson; her brother, Apostle Dr. Rufus (Ora) Rawls; six grandchildren, LeKeisha Gipson, Olivia Triplett, Sharae Gipson, Jessica Gipson, Timothy Gipson Jr., and Audreyuna Gipson; nieces, JoAnn Thompson, Henrietta Davenport, Toni Rawls, Jackie Davenport, Jennifer Rawls, Angelique Rawls, Felisha Alexander, and Armetha Chavon Steele; nephews, Langston Rawls, and Brandon Rawls; her brother-in-law, Charles Pendarvis; and a host of great granddaughters, great-grandsons, great- nieces, great-nephews, other relatives, and friends. She also leaves a special friend, Dorothy Middleton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Armetha Rawls; her husband, Cleotis Pendarvis; her brothers, Arthur James Rawls and John Rawls; her sister, Beatrice Davenport; her sister-in-law, Louise Rawls Robinson; and her nieces, Cassandra Rawls, Edna Davenport, and Nekita Rawls.
