Hollya Jackson was born on March 16, 1953, Madison, MS to Nettie Mae Jackson-Perry. He was raised by his loving grandparents, Johnny and Mattie Bell Jackson. Hollya was the third in a family of seven siblings. He entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March15, 2025 with his family by his side.

Hollya received his childhood education at East Flora High School in Flora, MS and was a member of the East Flora Mighty Hawks graduating Class of 1972.

At an early age, Hollya joined China Grove A.M.E. Church in Madison, MS and was an active member of the Male Choir until his health failed. 

He was employed for many years as a painter with The Jackson Painting Company and later was self-employed as a painter where he personally held belief of providing the best quality of work was reflected in his methodical work ethic.

He was joined in holy matrimony to Leander Dean on December 29, 1983 and to their union two children, Johnny and Miranda Jackson were born.

He is preceded in death by his parents/grandparents, Nettie Mae Jackson-Perry and Johnny and Mattie Bell Jackson; two brothers, John Perry and Curtis Perry; a sister, Evon Davis and a son, Kirk McDonald.

He leaves to cherish his memory: a devoted wife of 41 years, Leander Jackson; four sons, Tyrone Henderson, Eric(Tametria) Bailey, Arthur McGee and Johnny(Calesha)Jackson; two daughters: Shunda Buck and Miranda Jackson; a daughter in law, Tara McDonald; two brothers: Joseph(Catherine) Perry and Kenneth (Linda) Green of Madison, MS and a sister Brenda Perry of Canton, MS. He also leaves to cherish his memory; twenty three grandchildren and three great grandchildren; a very special future son-in-law, Omar Valladares and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
