Ida Mae Johson Lowe, was born on February 8, 1942 in Bolton, MS, was the cherished daughter of Mary and Lee Lawrence Johnson. As the ninth of fourteen children, she grew up surrounded by a large, loving family that shaped her strong sense of devotion and compassion.
Ida Mae attended Sumner Hill Junior High School in Clinton, MS. Throughout her life, she worked as both a cosmetologist and in retail, where her warm spirit and gentle presence touched many. She found joy in gardening, traveling and spending precious time with her family, moments she treasured deeply.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Mary ad Lee Lawrence Johnson Sr., and by he siblings: Lee Lawrence, Jr., Verna Mae (Fred) Cavett, Elnora Johnson Lear, Annie Lucille Lee, Hattie(Lawrence) Lee Galloway, Val Lee Johnson, Lee Val(Willie C.) Varnell, Willie Earl Johnson, Johnnie Johnson, JC Johnson, Willie D. Johnson and Herticine Johnson Gray.
Ida Mae leaves to cherish her memory four loving children: Darin Johnson Lowe(Terri) George Lowe, Jr.,(Brenda), Cassandra Lowe, and Kerry Johnson Lowe. She is also survived by her loving sister-in-law, Louise Johnson. She was a devoted grandmother to Jordan(Kimberly) Jackson, Jonathan Montrell Shannon(Courtney), Terrance Marcell Washington, Ashley Washington, Georgia Lowe and Lee Chin. Her legacy continues through her great grandchildren: Montrell Shannon, Javeon Jackson, Missy Gabriyel Shannon, Takera Washington, TaKyra Washington, Kamden Jackson, Khloe' Shannon, Kaden Lowe, Kingston Lowe, Jayce Shannon, Kassidy Mae Lowe, Summer Washington and Reign Washington.
Remembered for her kind heart, soft spoken strength and unwavering love for her family. Ida Mae touched countless lives with her grace and warmth. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
The family invites all who loved Ida Mae to join in celebrating her life and honoring her legacy.
