Irene Thurman

Irene was born to the late A.D. Thurman and Ruby Hobson in Madison County. Irene was raised in Tougaloo, Mississippi, and attended Madison School District. 

Irene was a Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and a Great Friend. She loved cooking on the grill for everyone. Irene was a believer in Christ at an early age. She gave birth to four children. 

Irene was preceded in death by her children, LaKeshia Thurman, Eddie Eugene Thurman; her sister, Emma McDonald, and Grandmother, Mamie Hobson. 

She is survived by her two sons, Gregory Thurman of Ridgeland, Mississippi and Curtis (Alexandria) Thurman of Brandon, Mississippi; four brothers, Percy (Betty) Hobson, A.D. Thurman, Jr. of Jackson, Mississippi, Robert Earl (Patricia) Thurman of Southhaven, and L.H. Thurman of Terry, Mississippi; four sisters, Earlene Shaw of Jackson, Mississippi, Mary Hobson of Clarksdale, Mississippi, Almethia Williams of Minnesota and Nyookee (Antonio) Taylor of Jackson; one uncle, L.C. Hobson; five grandchildren, Alexandria Harris (LaKeisha), Jasidy Walker, Griggen and Parker Thurman (Curtis) Ivan Jackson (Eugene); two great grandchildren, Tyson and Isaiah Harris (Alexandria) and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends who loved her dearly.
