Johnny Lee Kelly Sr.

Mr. Johnny Lee Kelly Sr., affectionately known as “Lee”, “John Lee” was born June 19, 1952, in Hinds County, Mississippi to the late Maggie Ruth Kelly Ratliff and the late Glen Taylor.

Johnny accepted Christ at Springhill Christian Center and later joined Chapel Hill Baptist Church in Bolton, MS. He attended Sumner Hill Junior High School and later attended Earle C. Clements Job Corps Center in Morganfield, KY.

Johnny was employed with Seiscom Delta, based out of Houston, TX and OMNI Energy Services, where he retired after 29 years. After retiring, he started Kelly Welding and later Kelly Construction.

Johnny was united in holy matrimony to Diana Kent on December 24, 2007.

On Tuesday, August 19, at 2:23 p.m., at his home in Raymond, Mississippi, with his loving wife by his side, God reached down into his garden to pluck one of his flowers.

In addition to his mother and father, his brother, Douglas Taylor preceded him in death.

Johnny leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted and loving wife, Diana Kent Kelly, five children, Johnny (Lychanda) Kelly Jr., Lisa Buckner, Ronnie Von Jones, Jirvus Bliss, and Joshunda Joiner; his siblings, Mattie Martin, Carolyn White, Calvin Bracey, Charles (Helen) Bracey, Emma (Jimmy) Jenkins and Jackie (Gregory) Quinn; his “Big Daddy” J D Ratliff; his grandchildren, Johnny Kelly III, Jiana Kelly, Anthony Fisher, Austin Fisher, Ronnie Jones Jr., Raquel Jones, Halayna Daniels and Josiah Joiner; his father-in-law Clarence Kent Jr.; his sister-in-law Deborah Mack; his step mother Rachel Taylor, his right-hand man, Ike “IC” Singleton, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
