Karen D. Brunson

Karen Diane Brunson was born on May 13, 1963, to the late Margie Lee Moncrief and John C. Moncrief. she peacefully departed this life on July 6, 2026 at the Care Center in Laurel, Mississippi. Karen accepted Christ and joined Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church at an early age.  She attended Bay Springs High School and later continued her education at Jones County Junior College(JCJC) where she earned an Associate Degree in Accounting, fulfilling one of her lifelong goals. Karen began her professional career at Dalex in Bay Springs, Mississippi. She later continued her career in accounting at Bancorp South in Bay Springs, where she faithfully served for many years. She was known for her strong work ethic, kind spirit and unwavering love for her family.  Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Margie Lee Moncrief and John C. Moncrief; her sister Pamela and her brother, Anthony.  She leaves to cherish her precious memories her loving children; Shequida Jones (Sylvester Jones) of Terry, MS; Natasha Moncrief of Bay Springs, MS and Trevion Brunson of Hattiesburg, MS.  She also leaves behind her loving sister: Barbara, Veronica, and Cassandra. Karen's legacy will continue through her 10 beloved grandchildren: Nadasha, Aiden, Payton, Akiyla, Roman, Noah, Trevin, Zoey, Ahmad and Josiah.

  She also leaves to cherish her memory her special loved ones, Josephine Brown, Lesia and Bryan, along with a host aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many dear friends who will forever treasure her memory. Karen's life was a beautiful example of faith, perseverence, love and dedication to her family. Though she is no longer with us in body,. her love and legacy will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
