Karey Wilson was born on April 15, 1959, he was the sixth youngest of seven children born to Ben Wilson, Sr. and Georgia Mae Wilson of Crystal Springs, MS. Preceding him in death were his six siblings, Eddie James Stewart (Linda Stewart), Ben Wilson, Jr., L.J. Wilson(Georgia Wilson), Herman Wilson, Sherman Wilson and Linda Jewel Brown (Willie Brown).

Karey began his education in Crystal Springs and one of his greatest passions was playing football in high school. 

Karey was a hard worker and was willing to provide by any means necessary. After high school, Karey went straight into the working world where he exemplified his hard-working ethics and made an impact on many that loved him dearly.

Karey relocated to Bay City, TX, obtaining a position as a painter. Years later, he relocated back home in Crystal Springs, MS, where he worked several other jobs. He worked for Hinds Community College, he worked for a longtime friend Rale King at King's Gravel , and he retired from working with a long term friend Johnny Twiner, with Twiner Construction as the Foreman of the company.

Karey joined Clear Creek Missionary Baptist Church where he attended until his health failed and God called him home on Friday, June 12, 2026, surrounded by love and family. Karey was in a committed relationship with the love of his life. "His Wife" Ms. Shirley Floyd for over 25 years. With her he gained a stepdaughter, 2 grandchildren and recently a great grandchild.

Karey leaves to cherish her memories; one daughter, Karen Jones of Houston, TX, one stepdaughter, Tiffany Thompson of Jackson, MS. One sister, Ruby Lee Kincaid of Crystal Springs, MS. Two Aunts, Ruby Lee Young(Odell) of Crystal Springs, MS and Dorothy Hart(David) of Jackson, MS. Three grandchildren, Makyla Jones, Jonah Turner and Serenity Jones of Houston, TX. Step-grand children, Kenyatta Floyd and Larente Thompson of Crystal Springs, MS. One great grandchild, Ra'Kai Johnson, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and close friends.
