James Keith Shannon

James Keith Shannon 65,  passed away recently at his residence in Clinton.  He was born in Jackson, MS on March 3, 1961; to Mr. & Mrs. Willie C. Shannon(Faye Ansley Shannon) of Jackson. 

He served in the US Navy Reserve for 8 years. He retired after 33 years, from the G.V. Sonny Montgomery Veterans Administration Medical Center in Jackson. He worked as a COA/LPN in the Eye Clinic in the Ophthalmology Department.

He was an avid hobbyist, which included photography, rock and mineral collecting, botany and calligraphy. He was very proud of his Irish heritage and enjoyed traveling to Ireland and attending the many Celtic Fests held in the Jackson area. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Faye Shannon, and his stepmother, Jeanne Grayson Shannon. He is survived by his brother, David Shannon(Janice), stepbrother, Ron(Selma) Litton, nephew, Brian (Robin) Shannon, niece, Rachael(Grant) Myrick, grandnephew’s -nephew’s,, Wesley and Matthew Shannon and grandniece, Hattie Myrick.

A memorial service is planned for Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 2 PM at Lakeshore CMC Church in Byram, MS. Lakeshore is located at 6880 S. Siwell Rd, Byram, MS.
