Lady Estella Williams Durr-Lewis was born April 13, 1942, to Theo and Bertha Williams Sr., in Vicksburg, MS
She confessed Christ at an early age at Grove Street M.B. Church. She would later join Ogden M.B. Church in Bentonia, MS under the leadership of her husband, Reverend Hardie Lewis. She served as a State Usher for the State of MS, National Ushers and the Queen for the State of MS.
Lady Estella's dedication continues to burn brightly in her service when she united with New Haliburton MB Church under the leadership of Pastor Steve Dodson after relocating from Vicksburg, MS. She was a servant and inspiration to all. Mother Estella could be counted on for words of wisdom, encouragement and a beautiful smile and laugh. Lady Estella is a graduate of 1962 Rosa A Temple High in Vicksburg, MS. She retired from the VA Hospital in Jackson, MS.
Lady Estella Durr-Lewis was joined in matrimony Reverend Hardie Lewis Sr. to whom she was affectionally known as "The Apple of His Eye." Lady Estella is preceded in death by her parents, Theo and Bertha Williams, Sr.; son Andrew "GG" Wallace; brothers Robert Williams, Floyd Williams, and Johnell Williams and her sister, Bertha Conner.
She leaves to cherish her memory her baby, Carl Wallace; nephews, Gilbert Williams; Theo "Sonny"(Josie) Williams of Vicksburg, MS; a niece that she raised as a daughter, Jocelyn R. Conner, Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Javoris(Breonna) Wallace and Shareka Wallace, both of Houston, TX; great grandchildren; Arriana Wallace, Cameron Wallace of Houston, TX; one aunt Elizabeth Williams, Vicksburg, MS and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.; extended family; godchildren, Doug and Tracie Summer, Gary and Edith Alexander, Patrick and Tameka Spear, Ricky Washington, and Hope Washington, Gwenson and Verna Crutcher, Shelia Alexander, Merlinda Polk, Brenda Banks, Reverend Steve and Sharon Dodson; god sisters: Roberta Stone, Ida Kimple of Jackson, MS, Rubie Bradley, Benard, Peggy Booker, Odgen Church Family, Mary Davis, and sisters.
