Lawrence Tillman

Mr. Lawrence Tillman, Sr. was born on May 14,1968 to the late Calvin Tillman, Sr. and Charlene Stringer-Collins in Crystal Springs, Mississippi. On July 21, 2026, he peacefully departed this earthly life and entered eternal rest.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Nettie B. Gamble; his parents, Charlene Stringer-Collins and Calvin Tillman, Sr.; two uncles, Charles Earl Gamble and Johnnie "Wolfe" Stringer; two aunts, Pauline Young and Earline "Gennie" Turner; one sister; Barbara Tillman-Glasper; and one cousin, Jukobie Stringer.

Lawrence received his education in Terry, Mississippi, where he attended Perryman Elementary and Terry High School.

A longtime resident of Jackson, Mississippi, Lawrence retired from Sanderson Farms in Flowood, Mississippi, after 29 years of dedicated service. He was known for his kind heart, generous spirit, and willingness to help anyone in need. Lawrence truly embodied the saying that he would "give you the shirt off his back." He never met a stranger, and his warmth and compassion left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered.

Lawrence was the kind of man people could always count on. No task was too small, no favor was ever a burden, and he never hesitated to help those he loved. His generosity, dependable spirit, and genuine concern for others will forever be remembered by those who were blessed to know and love him.

One of Lawrence's greatest joys in life was being "Grandad." He cherished each of them and treasured every opportunity to spend time with them. The love he shared with them will forever remain in their hearts.

Lawrence leaves to cherish his precious memories, his loving companion of many years, Lisa Daniels; his beloved son, Lawrence Tillman, II, of Jackson, Mississippi; his devoted bonus daughter, Miisha Daniels of Jackson, Mississippi; his cherished grandchildren, Lauren Tillman, Laila Tillman, and Khylan Tillman; his beloved bonus granddaughter, Mekylah Daniels; his loving siblings, Jamie Anderson of Terry, Mississippi, Calvin Tillman of Jackson, Mississippi, and Gregory Stringer (Angela) of Auburn, Alabama; two special nieces, Jessica Holly (Terrance) of Byram, Mississippi, and Elizabeth Brown (Frankie) of Crystal Springs, Mississippi; one special nephew, Jerry Maurice Glasper (RoShunda) of Byram, Mississippi; his devoted godbrother, William Austin of Jackson, Mississippi; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends; and special neighbors, Bessie Slaughter and Eddie Clerk.
