Mamie Lee Gibson was born on April 27, 1961 in Utica, MS., to the late Elizabeth Woods Gibson and John Henry Gibson. She attended Utica Gold Wave High School. She was raised with strong values of love, family and resilience, which she carried with her throughout her life.

Mamie was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and companion who loved her family deeply. She enjoyed sitting in the yard barbequing, taking care of her grandchildren and going to events, going on around town. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter: Joyce Lee Gibson; her grandson; Marquix Wilson and her granddaughters; La'Paris Gibson, Camaiya Gibson, Kaylan Gibson and Za'Miya Gibson, all of whom were a source of great pride and joy in her life. She also leaves behind her loving companion Willie Earl Noel, who stood by her side. Mamie is survived by he sisters; Karen Gibson of Jackson, MS, Laura Terrell of Port Gibson, MS., Catherine Wade of Long Beach, CA and Irene Gibson of Bolton, MS and her brother, Larry Dotson of Jackson, MS. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Kevin Gibson and Phillis Gibson of Raymond, MS., Velma Gibson, Ellis Gibson and Willie Gibson of Utica, MS and Carrie Gibson of Clinton, MS; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

The family would liketo extend a special thanks to Shunta Gibson Brown and Tammie Gibson for their love and care. Bernard, Marcel Taylor and Helen Johnson Taylor for their compassion and support.

Mamie will be remembered for her strength, kindness, noise talking antics and the love she shared with everyone around her.
