Marcus Dwayne Cottrell was born on May 31, 1968, to Jeanette Ayers and Bobby Bailey. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jeanette Ayers, his brother, John Ayers and due to illness his father Bobby is not able to be present.

Marcus will always be remembered for his kindness toward others and his deep love for his family. He was devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother who treasured every moment spent with those he loved.

Marcus began his career at Champion Used Cars, where he worked for many years. He later continued his employment with Acey Performance Exhaust and Precision Field Services, where he was known as a dedicated and exceptional employee. Within his family, Marcus was the go to automotive expert and mechanic, always willing to lend a helping hand. He found joy in cooking especially grilling as well as hunting and fishing, One of his greatest passions was collecting die-cast cars and over the years, he built an extraordinary collection that reflected his lifelong interest and pride. 

He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife 15 years, Hiedie Cottrell; his son, Deshun Cottrell; his daughter, ShaDedra Cottrell; his granddaughter, Daphne Grace; his brother Ricky Ayers; his brother, Mario (Tara)Bailey; his sister , Jolanda Bailey; father-in-law and mother in law James and Elizabeth Marion, sister-in-law Aundria Marion; grandmother, Sis Ethel Mae Kendrick; aunt; Paulette (Lee) Brinson, Margaret Bucker; uncles; Danny Cottrell, David Howze, Dennis Kendrick, Ray Kendrick, Roy (Mary Nell) Cottrell, Sylvester(Peggy)Cottrell. Two long time friends: Arick Robinson and Christopher Stewart. His hunting and fishing buddy, Sylvester Cottrell(Marcus was Fatboy and Sylvester was Unc) and a host of other loving family members and dear friends.
