Obituary:

With heavy hearts, we mourn the passing of Marquavis Young, who departed from this world on January 28, 2024. Marquavis was born on December 5, 2003, in Greenwood, MS. He was a beloved son, brother, grandson, and friend whose spirit radiated beauty and love for his family and friends.

Marquavis was a young soul who touched the lives of many. His untimely departure has left a void in the hearts of all who knew him. Despite his short time with us, Marquavis made a significant impact through his kindness and unwavering strength.

Growing up in the church, Marquavis's faith was a cornerstone of his life. He was baptized on August 2, 2015, and developed a personal relationship with God. Known for his fighting spirit and lion-like courage, Marquavis faced life's challenges with undeniable strength.

Among his proudest accomplishments was his move to Memphis, Tennessee, at the age of 19. There, he secured a rewarding job that allowed him to establish his own home—a testament to his determination and resilience.

Marquavis is survived by his grieving mother Brittny Dent, father Andrial Young, sister Kimorea Dent, brother Kaiydn Young, grandmother Debra Powell, grandfather William Dent, great-grandmother Dealice Young, aunts Sheena Dent, Dealice Young, Chekitta Young, as well as numerous cousins and friends who will cherish his memory forever.

Services to honor and celebrate Marquavis's life will be held at the Greater Nazareth MB Church in Tchula on February 17th. A viewing will take place from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM followed by a Celebration of Life ceremony from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.

In our hearts and memories, Marquavis Young will forever remain as a beacon of light and inspiration. May he rest in peace knowing he was loved and cherished by all whose lives he touched.
