Marvell McKinney Wadlington was born on February 28, 1964, to Otis and Catherine Wadlington in Holmes County, MS. On January 17m 2026, God gently called him home to rest in eternal peace.
At an early age, Marvell accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at Cade Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.
Marvell received his education in the Jackson Public School System and graduated from Callaway High School. He briefly attended Hinds Community College and worked diligently at various jobs, including employment with the Rival Company, until health challenges related to kidney disease limited his ability to continue working. Despite these challenges, Marvell remained strong in spirit.
He deeply cherished time spent with loved ones and found joy in family gatherings, celebrations and shared moments of laughter. Those who knew him will forever remember his gentle nature, compassionate heart and genuine love for others. His presence brought warmth and comfort, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
Marvell leaves to cherish his memory to his parents, Otis and Catherine Wadlington; one sister, Karen K Wadlington of Bessemer, AL; one brother; Casper (Pamela)Wadlington of Apopka, FL and a host of aunts, uncles cousins, and friends
He was preceded in death by his brother, Christopher Demond Wadlington. Though Marvell has transitioned from this earthly life, we find comfort in knowing that he now rests peacefully in the arms of our Heavenly Father.
