Mary Louise Harris was born May 15, 1938, in Adams County, MS. She was the middle child of Robert Jones and Estelle Carter and was raised by Andrew Jones, Sr. and Amanda Carter. She is survived by her brother Andrew Jones, Jr. and her son Dempsey(Vanessa) Harris.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband J.C. (Vernon)Harris and her children, Lynell (Marilyn) Harris, Jarvis(Lisa) Harris and Anita Harris. She lovingly embraced her twelve grandchildren, each one a precious treasure to her.
Mary was known by many names-Mama, Mae Lou, Aunt Louise, Aunt Mary, Mrs. Louise, and Mrs. Mary Harris. But of all those names the one she held dearest was Sister Harris.
That name carried with it peace, harmony and love, because Mary accepted Jehovah not just as her faith, but as her way of life. She raised her children in the teachings of the Bible and often reminded them of Jehovah's words "Bad associations spoil useful habits"- 1 Corinthians 15:33 She never wavered in her trust in Jehovah.
Her final words to her son, Dempsey were, " Never let Jehovah go" Despite her many trials, Mary remained humble and steadfast in her faith.
