Mikael Jermon Jonson was born on April 14, 1999, in Jackson, MS., to Diann and Michael Johnson, He was raised in Jackson, where he was the youngest of seven siblings. A role he embraced with pride and joy. On April 1, 2026, Mikael peacefully departed this life at home, surrounded by the love of his family. In God's perfect timing, He called His son home to rest.
Mikael attended Murrah High School and went on to work as a maintenance and repair technician alongside his father and brothers, where he was regarded as one of the most skilled HVAC technicians on the job. He had a deep passion for building and creating, as well as, for cultivating and nurturing plants and flowers. Gardening was his true passion and he spent countless hours working the soil and sharing his knowledge by educatng others on proper plant care. Mikael was also known for his sense of humor, his lighthearted spirit and the genuine kindness and love he extended to family, friends and especially his elders. He loved his siblings deeply and looked up to them with all his heart.His brothers were like fathers and his sister was like a mother and his oldest sisters, whom he loved and respected.so dearly. He found joy in life's simple pleasures, too many sweets, music, creativity and gardening. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family, which brought him his greatest happiness.
Mikael leaves to cherish his loving memories, his mother, Diann Johnson; father, Michael Johnson, his siblings; Miguel Johnson, Mikia Johnson, Mitrease Plunkett(Maricus), Michael Wright(Akela), Briddell Barber, Constance McIntyer; his many nephews and nieces; his aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of other living relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ben and Odessa Rucker and Willie and Fannie Johnson, and his uncle Leroy "Dee-El Chico" Rucker, who held a special place in his heart. Mikael was a devoted Christian who spoke often of God, the teachings of the Bible, and the beauty of the Lord's many creations. He was warmly welcomed into the church, where he was embraced by Reverend Eddie and Naomi Hargo as their own grandson and held a special place in his heart. He was baptized March 2009, at the young age of nine at North Jackson Baptist Church by Reverend Alfred Lyons. He also took on the responsibility of maintaining the church's garden. Mikael found great joy in his faith and was especially excited about the path ahead, looking forward to one day becoming a deacon in his church. His love for God and dedication to serving others were already shining through his life. Mikael was known for his loving and kind spirit always placing his family at the center of his life and doing whatever he could to protect and support them. He was caring, respectful and obedient, carrying himself with quiet strength and compassion. Though often overlooked by many, those who truly knew Mikael understood the depth of his character and the brilliance of his mind. He had a remarkable ability to create something meaningful out of very little, reflecting both resilience and creativity. His legacy is one of love, strength, and untapped greatness that will never be forgotten.
