Odie Anderson

Odie Othello Anderson, Jr., aged 75, of Terry, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 21, 2025.  He was born on October 29, 1950, in Hazlehurst, Mississippi, to the late Mr. Odie Anderson, Sr. and Mrs. Doris Edwards Anderson Kelly. He was the eldest of seven siblings and a lifelong believer in the power of kindness.

Odie attended and graduated from Hazlehurst Public Schools. After graduation from high school, he attended Utica Junior College where he earned an Associate's of Arts Degree in Culinary Arts. 

After moving to Terry, Odie met and married Flora Lee Willis and to this union, one child, Lorenzo Anderson, was born.

Odie united with Pilgrim Rest MB Church and later became a member of Terry Mission Baptist Church.

Odie lived a life filled with kindness, laughter, and generosity. Throughout his life, Odie found joy in working and after retirement, entertaining his many friends. He absolutely loved playing cards and cooking for his sister, Sandra, every Sunday. He was inviting and easy going. Friends and family will remember him for his warm smile and unwavering support.

Odie was preceded in death by his parents, Odie Sr. and Doris; brothers, James and Bobby Ray Anderson; sisters, Freddie Kelly and Mary Ann Robinson.

Odie is lovingly remembered by his wife, Flora Lee; his son, Lorenzo; his sisters, Sandra Anderson Funchess, Tina Thomas, and Valarie Morrow; his brothers, Charles(Shirley) Anderson, Dwayne(Glenda)Crump, and Michael Miller; one sister-in-law, Sylvia Anderson; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He will be deeply missed by all whose lives were touched by his presence.
