Mr. Otha Johnson, Jr. was born in Crystal Springs, MS, on April 15, 1947 to the late Mrs. Desiree Johnson and Mr. Otha Johnson Sr. of Crystal Springs. MS.
His beautiful journey on this side of life concluded on July 17, 2025, in Haven Hall in Brookhaven, MS, at the age of 78. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Desiree Johnson and his father, Mr. Otha Johnson, Sr.; two sisters, Mrs. Brenda Brown and Mrs. Debbie Johnson; one brother, Todalero Johnson; grandparents: Mrs. Unzell Young and Mr. Lonnie Young, Jr., Mrs. Willie Bell Johnson and Mr. Lank Johnson.
In 2000, Otha, affectionately known as Panda, was baptized, symbolizing a profound transformation and the beginning of a journey filled with hope and purpose. He embraced a life filled with love and warmth. A devoted uncle, brother and cousin, he held a special place in the hearts of his family. His passions revolved around collecting watches that sparkled like stars, vintage radios that hummed with nostalgia and indulging in his favorite television shows that brought laughter and joy into his home.
Despite being a homebody, Otha had an uncanny ability to keep his finger on the pulse of his loved ones' lives, always aware of what was happening around him. His love for his family ran deep and he was fiercely protective, never allowing anyone to bring him harm or negativity into their circle. Otha's spirit was as vibrant as his interests, making him an irreplaceable fixture in the lives of those who knew him.
He leaves to cherish his memory: seven sisters: Mrs. Willie Bell Johnson(Curtis) of Crystal Springs, MS, Mrs. Linda Johnson(James) of Crystal Springs, MS; Ms Patricia Johnson of Louisville, KY; Ms. Tabby Polk of Brandon, MS and Mrs. Tarsha Hollins(Eric) of Byram, MS; Ms. Della Ruth Johnson of Crystal Springs, MS; two brothers: Mr. Willie Edwards Johnson of Detroit, MI and Mr. Lannie Johnson of Hazlehurst, MS; two brother-in-law's, Mr. John Earl Brown, Sr. of Crystal Springs, MS and Mr. Jerry Johnson of Crystal Springs, MS and a host of nieces, great nieces, great great nieces, nephews, great nephews, great great nephews and cousins.
