Patsy Durr Wallace

Patsy Ruth Wallace was born on July 10, 1964, to Bettie Ruth Durr and the late Denon (Dink) Durr. She was the fourth oldest child and the second oldest of her sisters. Her father and brother, Joseph Bryant, preceded her in death.

Young Patsy was strongly influenced throughout her years as she attended Wesson Attendance School in Wesson, Mississippi. She confessed Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at Greater New Zion Missionary Church.

Patsy worked at the Hazlehurst City School District for over two decades, devoting her life to the community, all while providing for her family. She enjoyed dancing and spending time with her family and friends. She was loved by many.

It was Hazlehurst, Mississippi, that she met her husband, Tarry Wallace. They set out on an adventure of thirty- four years of marriage, blessed with one child.

Patsy is survived: her mother, Bettie Ruth Durr, who raised her with unconditional faith, love, and support; two daughters; Tiffany Durr and Kristi Wallace; Tony Durr, Donald Durr, and Kenneth Durr; seven sisters; Mary Ann Harris, Anita (Q.C.) Williams, Stephanie Owens, Josephine Durr, Betty Sue Durr, Tina Young, Melissa (Billy) Smith; four grandchildren, D'Kayla Durr, Amari Durr, Zailen Durr, and Kristin Wallace; godmother/sister, Pauline Byther; and a host of nieces, and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends
