Ray Anthony Lackey was born February 12, 1957 to the union of Erma Lackey and Johnney Lackey Sr. In Crystal Springs, Mississippi.
Ray attended Utica Junior College from 1977-1979. There he earned a trade in mechanics. Ray began worked at the University of Mississippi Hospital and later started at Mississippi Highway Patrol. In 1992, Ray began working at Mississippi Job Corps Center, for 43 years as maintenance engineer , where he worked until his health failed him.
Ray was a man that loved his WIFE, FAMILY, and was ALWAYS smiling. During his free time he enjoyed working on cars and riding around in his pickup truck. He was known for being a mentor and father-figure to many among the community and throughout his job. Ray had a passion for God. He was an active member of A Different World Church in Jackson, Mississippi.
Ray departed this life on August 28, 2025 at St. Dominic Hospital. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Erma and Johnney Lackey Sr., two sisters Rodella and Dorothy.
Ray leaves to cherish his most precious memories: his loving wife, Constrilla Washington Lackey, (12) children, Yohann Marcelin, Kinta Marcelin, Ray Reese, Lance Buster, Dennis(Tracy) Washington, Audriana Washington, Jammie Washington, Jasmine Washington, Darrius Washington, Joshua(Brittany) Wilson, Kiesha Lewis, Cliffton Buster, one special nephew Santonio Lackey, (2) brothers Jeffrey Lackey and Johnney Lee Jr., thirty-three(33) grandchildren, two aunts Carrie Davis and Joanne Newton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
