Richard Albert Ridley was the second of five children born on August 5, 1952, in Madison County to Selma Ridley.

Growing up in the Tougaloo Community area, Richard attended Madison Cou nty Schools. He became employed as a construction worker and painter. He loved spending time with family and friends. Richard shared a close bond with his niece, "BaeBae" Chery Jones(Jerry) nephew Horace Ervin(Kimberly) and friend "Tommy"

Richard was preceded in death by his mother, Selma Reddick; sisters; Willie Mable Jackson, Diane and Darneice Houston and a brother James "Bobby" Gilbert. 

Richard leaves to cherish his memories five children; three sons Earl Perry; Calvin "Jerome" Perry(Candace) and Richard Lamote "Montee' Perry; two daughters, Emma P McDonald(William) and Erica Nicky" Steele- Washington; grandchildren, Howard D. Henderson, Jr,; Shazalya L Perry; Madison M Perry, Darneisha Wilson, Calvin Perry, Jr., Jakyla Perry; Richard Lamote Perry, Jr.; Erin Nicole Washington; Great grandchildren-JaQarius and Jak'Yleigh Coleman and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
