Mr. Richard Lee Summers, age 65, of Terry, Mississippi, departed this life peacefully at his residence on Saturday, September 12, 2026. He was a devoted brother, beloved uncle, cherished cousin, and loyal friend whose gentle spirit touched the lives of many.
Richard was born on April 18, 1961, in Terry, Mississippi to the parents of Albert and Carrie Mae Summers. Richard attended Hinds County School and graduated in 1979. Throughout his life, he demonstrated kindness, humility, and a sincere concern for others. He will be remem-bered for his warm smile, quiet nature, and generous heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Summers, Sr. and Carrie Mae Summers; his brothers, Johnnie Lee Summers and Albert Summers, Jr.; his sister, Suzette Summers; his brother-in-law, Johnnie Stringer; his sister-in-law, Mary Summers; and his great-niece, Destiny Summers.
Richard was well known throughout his hometown for his dedication to lawn care. He took great pride in his work and earned the respect of those he served through his dependability, diligence, and strong work ethic. No task was too small when it allowed him to lend a helping hand.
In his leisure time, Richard enjoyed watching television, mowing lawns, cleaning fish, and spending time with family and friends. He found contentment in the simple pleasures of life and brought comfort and joy to those around him.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory his five sisters: Mary Louise Stringer, Joanna Summers, Ruby Summers, and Earline Summers, all of Terry, Mississippi; and Alice (Thomas) Wells of Florence, Mississippi. He also leaves two brothers, Walter Ray Summers and Lenell Summers, both of Terry, Mississippi; together with a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, other relatives, and devoted friends.
Though Richard has departed from our presence, his love, kindness, and treasured memories will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
