Roy Lee Steward, Sr. was born on November, 13, 1948 to the late Alfornia Steward and the late Georgia Jackson. He peacefully departed this life on February 13, 2026. At an early age, Roy Lee united with the Wilderness of Judea Church in Hazlehurst, MS. He dedicated much of his life to had work and commitment, beginning his career with Sanderson Farms on December31, 1974. After 37 years of faithful service he retired on January 2011.
Roy Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Alfornia Steward and Georgia Jackson; one brother Walter Steward and three sisters, Victoria Womack, Marilyn Bailey and Essie Lee Jackson
On January 29, 1988, Roy Lee was united in holy matrimony to Brenda Hilliard. Together they shared 55 years of companionship, included 38 years of marriage.
He leaves go cherish his loving memory his devoted wife, Brenda Steward; ten children-three daughters: Teresa Steward, Soncia (Monzo)Cooley and Latisha Stewart; seven sons: Roy Lee Steward Jr., Adrian Hilliard, Anthony Stewart, Kevin Stewart, Derek Stewart, Octavious Hilliard and Eric(Tiffany)Hilliard; twenty-six grandchildren, twenty seven great grandchildren; one brother, Elliot( Tiffany)Gilmore; four sisters: Helen Steward, Katie Sanders, Mamie (James)Horris and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, sister-in-law, brothers-in-law and dear friends. Roy Lee Steward, Sr. will be remembered for his dedication to family, strong work ethics and the legacy of love he leaves behind.
