Sarah Mcgowan Baldridge

Sarah Marie Baldridge, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend, was born on May 25, 1960, in Jackson, Mississippi to the late Nettie Ree McGowan. Sarah peacefully departed this life on January 7, 2025, at her home in Jackson, MS., surrounded by her loving family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Nettie Ree McGowan; her grandparents, Willie and Tommie McGowan; her brother, Rickey McGowan; her mother-in-law, Clara Mae Baldridge and her brothers-in-law, Milton Baldridge, Clifton Baldridge and Ray Johnson.

Sarah leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories to her devoted husband of 35 years, James Baldridge Jr.,; her beloved daughter: Sarah Ann McGowan, her caring son, Stephen James Baldridge; her sister: Tammy(Sammie) Hudson and her brother Eddie McGowan, along with his dear friend, Launtrice McMillian.

She was a proud grandmother to Trevarious (India)McGowan and Madyson McGowan, who brought endless joy to her life. She also leaves behind her sisters-in-law, Johnnie Mae McGowan, Beatrice(Michael)Jackson and Clara Jean Johnson; her brothers-in-law: John(Mary Ann) Baldridge, Lindsey(Julia)Thomas, Robert Lee Baldridge and Roy Thomas and her uncle, Willie James McGowan.

Sarah's life was further enriched by the bond she shared with he close friend, Mae Ruth Benson, who was like a sister to her. She was also deeply grateful for the friendship and care shown by her coworker Ejanna Guidry, whom she loved dearly.
