Trayce Marshall

Ms. Trayce Denise Marshall was born on October 10, 1976, in Jackson, MS to TJ Marshall and Ruby Jean Porter (Opara-Nadi). She attended Wingfield High School in the early 90's until she landed her first job at age 15. From that moment on, she never stoped working, both on and off the job. She worked as a laborer for various chains and landed at Martins Cleaners in Byram, MS before passing. She loved people and always knew her reason for existence was to help others. She opened her doors and heart to many and never discriminated against. She touched the hearts of everyone she encountered. In her spare time, Trayce would love to read and write poems. She wanted to publish her own book one day. She enjoyed laughter and her personality shined  as bright as the sun. Trayce accepted Christ at an early age and was Baptized on March 7, 2025, by Rev. Johnny R. Sanders, Pastor. 

On February 24, 2024, Trayce was diagnosed with Brain Cancer (Glioblastoma Stage 4). She underwent brain surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy unti8l January 2025. She was put on hospice where she was cared for by her daughter and close family members. She was the true definition of a fighter because she never gave up, despite the odds against her. On Monday, November 3, 2025, Trayce transitioned from labor to rest at her home surrounded by her children, spouse, and grandchildren.

Trayce is survived by her daughter Kierra Marshal and son Kentravius Champion, grandchildren Jewel, Jasper, and Jade (Harper), Kashton, Khamari and Tru (Champion). She leaves behind to cherish her memories: Leonardo Champion (spouse), Ruby Opara-Nadi (mother), Patricia Franklin-Felix, Cynthia Marshall-Cage, Kimberly Laboy, Kenyana Opara-Nadi (sisters), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Trayce was preceded in death by: TJ Marshall (father), Casey A. Marshall and Ricky T. Shelby (brothers)s, Eula Mae Porter (grandmother).
